Full-bodied and mature with a mellowed, complex flavour. At peak. (Rewards of Patience, 1st ed., 1985)
"Medium brick red. Developed, gamey, sweet fruit aromas with hints of leather. Developed, sweet, molasses/gamey fruit on palate, pronounced tannins and good length. Finishes dry. At peak of development. Drink now." (Southcorp Wines, The Rewards of Patience, Fourth Edition, March 2000)
