Tasting Notes: size> Always considered a good rather than a great Grange. However, won a trophy, four gold and three other medals in 1968 and1969.

Colour: medium full red-brown. Bouquet: strong fruit, with a hint of cigar box but lacks the complexity of some of the other top wines. Palate: fairly firm, indeed, bordering on sharpness/bitterness. Not rich enough. (James Halliday, National Times, Nov.1982)

Shows developed, firm flavour and good structure. Drinking well. (Rewards of Patience, 1st ed., 1985)

"Beginning to dry out. Quite leathery with some mushroomy notes. Becoming lean and austere. Drink now." (Southcorp Wines, The Rewards of Patience, Fourth Edition, March 2000)
