The winemaking philosophy of the house of Seppelt is clearly evident in their outstanding collection of Tawny wines, though in particular, the Para Port, named after the Para river that flows through the centre of the Barossa Valley. The 1947 release was produced from Grenache, Shiraz & Mataro grapes. To add complexity, a small addition of very old Tawny Port was married to the wine, after which it was transferred to 2000 litre casks and left to mature for approximately 18 years.
Seppelt Para Port has become an Australian legend, instantly recognisable in its unique bottle, with a distinctive style highlighting rich fruit flavours and complexity. Very rare. 738ml bottle.
