2024 William Downie - Compelling Site-focussed Pinot Noir

William Downie continues to lead the charge in site-focused, minimal-intervention Pinot Noir in Australia. Based at Guendulain Farm in Yarragon, where he and wife Rachel planted a high-density vineyard in 2007, Downie also works with renowned sites like Bull Swamp and Camp Hill to craft expressive, vineyard-driven wines.

The 2024 vintage brought earlier flowering and a warm, dry season, resulting in wines with more depth, fruit weight, and structure than in recent years. While retaining their signature elegance and purity, these new releases show impressive richness and cellaring potential—a compelling evolution from one of the country’s most thoughtful Pinot producers.
