Buffalo Trace launched a "Craft Your Perfect Bourbon" (C.Y.P.B.) website in late 2015 as an interactive experience that "allowed people to learn about and create their own perfect bourbon". Probably inspired by what Glenfiddich did a few years back with 'Project X', it included selecting a recipe, warehouse placement, age and proof. 100,000 fans completed the process online with the consensus preferencing an eight year old wheated bourbon bottled somewhere between 90-99 proof. Buffalo Trace's response was to create 'C.Y.P.B.' First offered in 2018, this is an an ongoing annual release, the quality of which already appears to be flirting with perfection.

...Buffalo Trace asked fans to “Craft Your Perfect Bourbon” and this is the result. Cracker Jack and butterscotch sweetness appear on the nose, with cedary oak and black cherry soda lurking just beneath. On the palate, the flavors are bold, mouthwatering, and juicy, like dark berry fruit sprinkled with baking spices and spearmint.
