Sullivans Cove Single Cask TD0020 American Oak Second Fill 18 Year Old Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)

In the American Oak Second Fill range, Sullivans Cove offer whiskies of maturity and finesse, drawn from casks seasoned by earlier spirit. Decades of slow ageing in these gentler barrels creates a delicate balance between vibrant fruit and malt character, soft vanilla, and mellow oak spice. In this example the nose needs coaxing to release a fruity aspect, in particular, dried pears, perfectly integrated with the oaky vanillas. The crisp, warming delivery shows a bit of that pickled ginger note that characterised early bottlings, but it's offset by a soft orchard fruitiness, almost like a young Calvados. The finish is subtle, medium-long, with gentle spices. Reveals the distillery's elegant side.

TD0020 was filled into a cask in Feb 2005 and bottled in Apr 2023 at  47.6% Alc./Vol. 178 bottles produced. One only from a private collection.
