Starward Small Batch Mesquite Smoked Malt Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

This is the second release of Starward's Small Batch releases, in which they try something new to pique the public's interest. Following on from the Cherry Smoked Malt, the barley used in this expression was smoked using Mesquite wood chips (commonly used to smoke various meats in the Southern American bbq tradition). It's a whisky for those who enjoy experiencing the experiments of a creative distiller. Reportedly matured in Apera barrels, and now long sold out, just 300 bottles were produced. 55% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers... Distinctive mesquite smoke aromas are balanced by citrus fruits on the nose. This whisky offers this and more on the palate, with abundant orchard fruit characters up front followed by the intensity of the smoke. Balancing the dry and sweetness, this is a Starward whisky not to miss.
