Distilled from Loch's pale malt bill & aged in a single ex-Tawny cask. Slow to unfold, but develops nice wine pick-up on the nose with cranberry-infused chocolate, hints of lamingtons and biscuity malt. Fleshy and medium-bodied, the thrust of spices at mid palate is eclipsed by a flurry of berry flavours. There's a semblance to a young, drier-styled Portuguese Port, but with significantly more kick. 46% Alc./Vol. Release #43 tasted.

Earlier batch BR09... Deep brass gold in colour, it offers a generous, malt-forward bouquet with subtle red berry and cocoa notes. The palate ups the ante in a fabulous flavour rush, infused with hints of lamingtons, chocolate box and vanilla, sweetening in the final stages. It's bottled at "optimum drinking strength" and created to pair with the distillery's County Ale. 48.8% Alc./Vol. 91 points
