Kanosuke 2022 Limited Edition Cask Strength Japanese Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

The earlier bottlings from the new Japanese distillery, Kanosuke, sold out quickly. The 2022 edition was aged in a variety of barrels and blended from liquid distilled between 2017- 2019. Made with unpeated malt and bottled at cask strength after three years, unlike last year’s 2021 first edition which mainly used re-charred American white oak ex-“Mellowed Kozuru” aged rice shochu casks, and 2021 'the second', which used more traditional bourbon barrels, the 2022 release has sherry playing a key role. 59% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... Nose: Lemon tea, honey, ume plum, Japanese nikki cinnamon. Taste: Dried berries, coffee candy, old woodiness. Finish: Spicy, with a pleasantly lingering bittersweetness.
