Sourced from some of the oldest bonds in Canada, this now discontinued age statement from J.P. Wiser is also remarkably cheap for a triple-decade-old spirit. This is a venerable brand, started by the son of a Dutch farmer from New York State in the late 1800s. Like his father, J.P. was a man of integrity and an exceptional work ethic, evidenced in his whisky-making, summing up his approach as "Quality is something you just can't rush. Horses should hurry, but whisky should take its time."  50% Alc./vol.

Other reviews... Oh, the glory of used cooperage. Woody notes begone—let time slowly breathe life into what began as almost neutral, high-proof corn spirit. Creamy spice, barley sugars, peach syrup, dry grasses, and ancient barn boards. Incredible complexity, yet so tightly interwoven it achieves oneness.
