Jack Daniels Single Barrel Special Reserve Heritage Barrel Tennessee Whiskey (1000ml)

Originally released in two limited batches in 2018 and 2019, JD's Heritage Barrel was cemented into their standard range under the Single Barrel series. It now lands in a new presentation and a one-litre format. To become a Heritage Barrel, the whiskey is casked at a lower ABV than normal, which reportedly ups the texture profile and increases the flavour extraction from the cask. Also, the cask undergoes heavy charring for a longer period before getting a light char to top it off. A niche option, perhaps, but one that enthusiasts will appreciate as a punchy alternative to standard-issue Jack. 50% Alc./Vol.

A beguiling mix of fruit, sweet grain, and herbaceousness meets the nose—there’s a dollop of honey, juicy stone fruit, cereal milk, slightly overripe berries, and a touch of eucalyptus. The velvety palate is sumptuous and chock-full of dessert-laden flavors, among them caramel corn, chocolate-covered strawberry, cocoa powder, Snickers, and crème brûlée.
