Hellyers Road Original 12 Year Old Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)

Hellyer's Road is a serious business, employing state of the art equipment and capable of large scale production. The flagship whiskies are distilled from Tasmanian grown malted barley using local rainwater, then matured in American white oak barrels. The company is presently expanding its portfolio with some of the oldest whisky stocks in the country (a mere 12 Years!)

Tasting note: The amber / gold appearance is bright and crystal clear. Oatmeal and ginger biscuit aromas are underscored by vegetal, parsnip-like notes in the first pass, sweetening with more vanilla and cocoa in the second inspection. Further air contact softens the bouquet and adds hay and cut grass-like notes to the mix. Plenty of spice presence in the mouth with a medium dry, concentrated delivery and subdued cocoa and coffee nib flavours featured in the mid palate stages leading through to a warm, rounded, grassy finish with late hints of cocoa and vanilla bean in the fade. 46% Alc./Vol.
