Dalmore 18 Year Old Vintage 1998 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

There was a sherry matured 18 year old released around 2016, however, this example is vintage-dated and partly matured in port pipes that previously held port for 20 years. Lots of satisfied reviews from tasters at whiskybase.com, et al. leave the impression that this is one of the finer Dalmores of the last decade. Bottled in 2017 at 44% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... I was very interested in this whisky, because I really like the Port Finish's. First, the whisky is very pricey, second, the whisky is awesome! I was very surprised what it offers for a great and varied aroma. Dark fruits, raisins, oranges, nuts and honey. There are also beautiful spicy notes and a long and warm finish. He looks very mature and round. The 44% are exactly right here. As I said, it costs a lot of money, but it's worth it! Notes from the producers... Nose: English marmalade, plums, vanilla and blackcurrant. Palate: Honeyed banana, blueberry and grape. Finish: Plums, dark treacle and Christstollen cake.
