Tasting note: Ardmore's medium-peat style integrates nicely with Pedro Ximenez (sweet) sherry. Here you get an evocative co-mingling of embers, wild honey and menthol on the nose with more than a passing resemblance to Highland Parks of yesteryear. Silky and dangerously drinkable at 50%; Smokey malt arrives with a sweet, sherried glaze. One of those delicious and relatively rare whiskies that enters dessert territory with confident sweet-dry balance and maintains poise until the end. 50% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
