Tasting note: Pale gold appearance. The nose offers good intensity with attractive notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate and caramel. Aeration draws out hints of baked apple and sweet spices. The palate offers clean crisp malt with a mildly fruity edge and hints of peat, supported by lively spices leaving a gently tingly mouthfeel. A subtle dried grass note on the finish adds lovely freshness and persists into the aftertaste. None of the frustrating sulphury notes are evident in this bottling, which was opened new.
