Another progression in Benriach's smokey foray, this one peated at 35ppm, up there with some of Islay's biggest and best. It demonstrates that Benriach isn't only a soft, fruity whisky and they certainly succeeded with this 'campfire expression' that delivers on the promise of the label. Comes non chill filtered and at a generous 48%, so the value is solid.

Retasted 2020... Compared to the Peated cask strength version, the peat feels more densely layered - no doubt as was the intention. But it's the length and exquisite freshness at the tangy finish that really grabs you. Makes you wonder how they pulled it off. A gem for the price!
