One of a series of heavily peated Benriachs, this time aged in ex-bourbon barrels before enjoying a finish in dark rum casks. A mere 1,240 bottles are on offer worldwide.

Tasting note: Bright gold. Big aromatic smoke factor here - think grandpa's rum flavoured pipe tobacco. Woolshed and even hints of liquorice as the nose evolves. Pure and perfectly balanced with the smokiness unfolding in stages through the mouth. More than a touch of Fisherman's Friend at the finish. Prolonged aftertaste, but the rum isn't salient. Nonetheless, a genuine beauty. 46% Alc./Vol.
