2025 Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (700ml)
"When Four Roses nails it, they really nail it – and the 2025 release nailed it." - bourbonculture.com
Launched in the USA in late 2025, Four Roses latest limited edition is a blend of 13 and 19 year old Bourbons marking the 18th in the annual series. It draws on a combination of three bourbon recipes and four different batches, bottled without chill filtration. “Year after year, we look to create a unique expression that highlights the best of what our ten recipes can offer,” said Brent Elliott, Four Roses Master Distiller. “When blending this year’s release, I was drawn to the 13-year-old V batches that showcase pronounced delicate fruit and sweet barrel tones. Although these barrels can really shine on their own, the OBSK brought in a complexity that I think people will really enjoy. The addition of the 19-year-old OBSV also adds another layer of depth and aged character that rounds out the blend beautifully.”
The final Bourbon lands at 54.5% ABV promising notes of sweet apricot, vanilla, caramel, black tea leaves, hints of rye, and mellow oak on the nose, followed by flavours of apricot, hints of citrus, crème brûlée, and antique spiced oak on the palate, with those same flavours lingering in a very soft and long finish. Approximately 16,800 bottles are available at select retailers globally. The detailed mashbill is as follows:
Four bourbons / three different recipes:
-38% OBSV Recipe: 13 Years, 60% Corn, 35% Rye, 5% Malted Barley
-35% OESV Recipe: 13 Years, 75% Corn, 20% Rye, 5% Malted Barley
-17% OBSK Recipe: 13 Years, 60% Corn, 35% Rye, 5% Malted Barley
-10% OESV Recipe: 19 Years, 75% Corn, 20% Rye, 5% Malted Barley
Other reviews... When Four Roses nails it, they really nail it – and the 2025 release nailed it. If you see this bottle, do not waffle, just buy it. It’s not quite bourbon of the year, but it’s definitely in the discussion for Top 10. It almost makes the ever-increasing MSRP that they’ve given it seem worth it. Actually, I do think this is a great deal and would recommend buying it on sight. You should definitely pick this over the 2025 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon if given the choice. To Brent and his crew – good job! Keep making blends like this and you’ll have a happy fanbase. - thebourbonculture.com
