2024 Dalmore Luminary No.2 16 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Dalmore's Luminary series, Collector range. A confusing release: for each Luminary (1, 2 or 3), there was a Collector version and a Rare version. The Rares were indeed very rare and came with an impressive age statement in a decanter-style bottle and presented in a specially designed display case. The Collectors have a more modest age statement but sport some uncommon cask combinations both from maturation as well as finishing. Each whisky was created under the supervision of Master Distiller Richard Paterson and Gregg Glass, Dalmore’s Master Whisky Maker. As for the Luminary part of the equation, Dalmore teamed up with some top architectural houses to create the various presentation cases.

The second Collectible comes in at 16 years old and has spent time in bourbon casks, to be then finished in Graham’s Tawny Port pipes, Apostoles sherry casks, and multiple refill bourbon casks, with a small amount of exceptionally rare peated Dalmore added to the mix. The tasting profile shows abundant dark caramel notes with yellow fruit intermingling. Some lightly spiced forest fruits finish the dram with a breath of woodsmoke. Approximately 20,000 bottles were produced, and the design was paired with the Melodie Leung / Zaha Hadid Architects collaboration. 48.6% Alc./Vol.
