2022 Domaine de la Mordoree La Dame Rousse Lirac
Seductive and silky with juicy dark to black fruit and gently chewy tannins providing ample structure.
A blend of Grenache and Syrah. Deep black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Enticing black raspberry and liquorice scents drift through the olfactory senses followed by some dark to black cherry, scorched earth and peppered meat notes. Seductive and silky, the medium bodied palate is layered with juicy black raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits which meld into a smoky earth, dried herb and blackpepper back drop. Gently chewy tannins provide ample structure. Concludes long and deeply fruited yet it’s a more refined version than the 2022 Domaine de la Mordoree La Reine des Bios Lirac.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews….
Serious, dense and compact blend of grenache and syrah. Full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Textured and spicy with plenty of vibrant character on the mid-palate and a chewy finish at this stage. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Try after 2025.
