2020 Mars Tsunuki Distillery Peated Single Malt Japanese Whisky (700ml)

For those new to the Japanese whisky scene, Tsunuki is the second distillery of Mars Whisky, built in 2016 on an historic site in Kagoshima, South Japan. The location is also the birthplace of the parent company, 'Hombo Shuzo' which started over one hundred years ago. This is the second official release after Tsunuki 'The First'. It comes matured in bourbon barrels, but this time aims to showcase a peaty character that was absent from its predecessor, along with honey, barley and crisp apple notes. With an outturn of approximately 15,000 bottles world wide, it comes non chill filtered and bottled at a higher than normal strength of 50% for maximum flavour. Very limited stocks.
