2009 A.D. Rattray Cask Collection Glen Spey 15 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Described by Rattray's as “flawless” prior to re-rack, rather than mask any harsh or unwanted character,  this hogshead was finished for more than 11 months in a French Limousin oak barrique that previously held Cognac for five years. The result has built layers of fruit flavour and texture upon the light, grassy Glen Spey spirit. 296 bottles produced. 55.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Colour: Nectarine gold. Nose: Dried plum. Curacao organge and Battenberg cake. Palate: Poached apricot, clover honey and almond butter. Finish: Sweet cinnamon and stone fruit, cut with a light gooseberry tartness.
