Glenlivet at a level of intensity rarely experienced.

Tasting note: An exclusive for Le Comptoir Irlandais, single cask #901004 was a first fill Sherry Butt. The deep topaz colour suggests a very active cask. Fumey with wasabi and cinnamon prickle before settling in to a belter Glenlivet: Nothing meek and mild here - just pure, thick malt layered with fruit cake, toffee apple, figs and dried apricots... more ginger snaps and baking spices at the finish. Massive attack. Gently bittersweet uncut. Unctuous and utterly delicious with water (more marshmallow - then honey and stone fruits). PX can quickly overwhelm a whisky. One senses this was bottled at just the right time. Sherry clearly frames the malt, but Glenlivet's high-class distillate is the centre piece here. 645 bottles world wide. Non chill filtered. 62.8% Alc./Vol. Very limited stocks.
