2006 North Star Glen Spey 14 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

$140. 00

$1680.00 Dozen
Considered by several whisky writers as "one of the most 'obscure' distilleries in Scotland", Glen Spey would have continued to slip under the radar of malt chasers had it not been for a handful of favorable releases. Formerly known as the "Mill of Rothes", it was built in 1878 by James Stuart & Co (who later went on to buy the Macallan distillery). Always intended as a filler for blends, this unusual release from North Star was bottled exclusively for The Dunoon Pipe Band in October 2020 at an impressive 59.1% ABV. Finished in an oloroso cask, the outturn was 247 bottles. Expect aromas of toasted vanilla pods, fresh ginger & cola cubes with flavours of creamy hazelnut and ice cream. Non chill filtered.
