Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$299. 00

$3588.00 Dozen
ABV: 57.6%
Prior to 2014 when a new official range was released, Mortlach was rarely encountered. Current owners, Diageo, used to offer around 800 cases of a 43% ABV 16 year old annually under their Flora & Fauna label (even this is now discontinued). The next closest thing to "official bottlings" of Mortlach have been the licensed releases by Gordon & Macphail. Otherwise, output is reserved for Diageo's blends, such as Johnnie Walker. This cask strength Adelphi will please followers of the style which is considered one for the more full bodied Speysiders going around. Scotchwhisky.com add, "While other meaty spirits are made [most notably Benrinnes and Dailuaine] none have Mortlach’s weight, meaning that this is a highly-prized base note for blends." Reportedly from a single first fill Bourbon barrel yielding 224 bottles. Super limited. 57.6% Alc./Vol.
