1983 Adelphi Miltonduff 33 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$499. 00
Bottle
$5988.00 Dozen
ABV: 52.6%
A big asking price for a Miltonduff...but then look at the age. At 33 years, this is one of the oldest expressions to have ever been sold in Australia. As with last years, the outturn is extremely low. Rarely found as an indie bottling, owners Pernod Ricard reserve most of this distillery's output for the Ballantine's blends.

Tasting note: Drawn from a refill American oak x Sherry hogshead. Brilliant deep gold. This is quite special on the nose, softly spoken yet deep, sweet yet fresh, evolving pear drops and ripe apple with dustings of cocoa, cream sponge cake and butter shortbread. Salivating. Oily, dense, buxom whisky with a gorgeous fruity burst: apple and pear tart followed by low key vanilla, beeswax and dried coconut in the warming finish. Superb length. Love it. 52.6% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 168 bottles.
