Glenlivet's Cellar Collection was introduced to commemorate dates of importance in their history, as well as offer up some serious vintage malt from one of the most revered distilleries. 1964 marked Glenlivet's 180th anniversary in 2004 and is bottled at cask strength and non chill filtered, one of the few from the range to do so. Bottles from this series have widely been heralded as the best Glenlivet has to offer, with the 1964 vintage sitting in the upper echelons. Described as having layers of rich, fatty oak enveloping prominent spices and red fruit with a dark, floral finish, this bottle promises to be an unforgettable drinking experience. It presents just as well as any serious single malt with a leather-strapped, oak case. The first we have come across, and one of the more rare examples we have to offer. Very rare.
