Tomatin Cù Bòcan Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$99. 99
Bottle
$1199.88 Dozen
ABV: 46%
For one week every year, Tomatin makes a peated whisky instead of their traditionally unpeated expressions. Labelled as Cu Bocan and released for the first time in October 2013, this edition has been peated to 15ppm and matured in a mix of virgin oak, bourbon and sherry casks.

Tasting note: Deep brassy gold. Subdued with light-weight aromas of biscuity malt and mild vanilla followed by hints of ginger bread. Offers a medium bodied, easy drinking style with a brief burst of pepper and juicy malt. Concludes biscuity, medium long with the peat almost indiscernible. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... An old fashioned dram....Appears to be nearer to new make than fully matured scotch. The big player is the oak which, almost Bourbon like, shovels cart loads of caramel and muscovado into the mix. Green...and engrossing. 46% Alc./Vol.
