The Macallan Double Cask 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - Annual 2021 Release
It's been a while since the thirty year age statement has been offered as an official Macallan release. The last incarnation was under the 'Fine Oak' label (circa 2007), then in 2018, so apart from indie releases, the classification is relatively rare. Aged in both sherry-seasoned American and European oak, this is the oldest in the 'Double Cask' series so far, defined by aromas and flavours of sweet toffee, ginger, dried fruits and spice. It's labelled from the date of release rather than the date of distillation. Very limited stocks. 43% Alc./Vol.
Notes from the producers... Nose – Fresh honeycomb, sweet toffee, red apple, fig and vanilla pod. Palate – A smooth melody of cinnamon, ginger, Madagascan vanilla, dried fruits and oak. Finish – Sweet oak, soft spice and toffee.
