Aiming for a perfect balance of flavours, Macallan's Double Cask comes matured in both American and European sherry-seasoned oak casks. The former adds delicate vanilla to the subtle spice of European oak, delivering a Macallan with a sweeter, warmer taste and character. 43% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... [2020 release tasted] Deep notes of wood polish on the floral nose, with toffee and a whiff of cloves. The palate is slick, with Christmas pudding, orange, caramel, oak, and dark chocolate. Black coffee, citrus fruit, ginger, and black pepper in the lengthy finish. 92 points - whiskyadvocate.com
