Caroni bottlings are now entering the league of semi-mythical wood aged spirits. To find a well aged expression is increasingly rare. This 20-year-old weighing in at 54.7% is an obvious opportunity for collectors. One of 1875 bottles released as part of Boutique'y's batch 2, Caroni's full flavoured nutty, sweet and smokey molasses profile is now a rare relic of flavour history. The distillery has long since closed, and as you can see from the label, it’s looking a little worse for wear. When Caroni shut down their stills in 2002, it marked the end to 'heavy' rum production in Trinidad.
