Launched in mid 2022, 'Surge' is another duty free Talisker delivering spice and honeyed red-fruits alongside the distillery's trademark salt'n'pepper and smoke. It's a no age statement expression, aged in ex-bourbon casks, but the decent ABV means you should get good intensity. 45.8% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... Talisker at its most eloquent: the smoke shows all the charm of the distillery in its younger development... a delightful combination of charm and determined brutality. Shame about the thinness and lack of development; But what it does, it does juicily and memorably. 92.5 points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2024
