'La Herencia de Sánchez' is the second brand from Romulo Sanchez Parada. Mainly sold in Mexico, it will be less familiar to mezcal lovers than his Rey Campero label which gets a wider distribution. The production process is the same for both, employing traditional tahona-crushing and copper-distillation methods. For drinkers, perhaps the most important difference will be the lower strength (42% as opposed to close to 50%ABV for the Rey Campero). That should mean the La Herencia de Sánchez will be a softer alternative while being easier on the wallet! Reviews highlight a rustic, earthy and bold profile with notes of campfire smoke, roasted agave, citrus, and herbs. It is widely regarded as a high-quality sipper.
