The Busch Distillery, situated in the heart of old Duesseldorf, has produced traditional drink specialities since 1858. In the early 1950's, "Killepitsch" was launched.

The story goes that sometime toward the end of World War II a promise was made to celebrate a new begining with the invention of a brand new drink. "If they don't "kill" us now, we have a chance to "pitsch" a few more. Hence "killepitsch, " the name was born. Shortly thereafter the trade embargo was lifted on occupied Germany and Willi Bush, a skilled distiller was able to shop the world for the ingredients he needed for his new liqueur. Made from 90 fruits, berries and herbs, described as 'a herbal powerhouse' to the senses. Typically served chilled. Grab a taste of Dusseldorf! 42% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... The fetching bouquet is anything but bitter with floral and fruity notes with scents of black pepper, parchment and kale. The palate entry is sweet and cherry cola-like; at midpalate the berry/red fruit character comes to the fore. Finishes satiny smooth, ropey in texture and almost like chocolate orange. Very nice.
