This single barrel selection references the 'original' Penderyn house style which favours ex-Madeira wine maturations. From a 15ml sample, the aromas are subdued, but the palate is fuller and sweeter than its Moscatel sibling with a rich malty delivery backed up by fruit cake and sweet spice flavours. Well balanced uncut, those same notes become bittersweet towards the finish, where toasted oak, vanilla and sweet nutty flavours unite in an impressive finale.
