Overeem Distillery Distiller Strength Bourbon Cask Matured Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml) - 43%

Aged in x-bourbon wood, this single cask pick utilises Overeem's proprietary heavy toast and char treatment through the coopering process. Our tasting from a 20ml sample found a straightforward, pleasant malty experience that doesn't push the complexity hard offering slightly bittersweet chocolate notes and a gently grippy finish with suggestions of dried coconut through the aftertaste. Because these are single barrel outturns of around 140 bottles at a time, the flavour profile will vary slightly from batch to batch. 43% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers... Nose: Bright, fresh and vibrant with coconut, bananas and molasses, with hints of vanilla, caramel and a nutty edge. Palate: Coconut and pineapple upfront, with burnt vanilla and citrus, caramelised banana, marshmallows, charred meats and toasted oak. Finish: Toffee apple, charred oak , light spice and coconut, medium length.
