Mijenta‘s second expression is aged for up to six months in a blend of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia wood casks. The result is a very fine, delicate, feminine Reposado with a gentle delivery and medium dry peppery-agave flavours, capped off by a delicious butterscotch finish. Sleek, soft and eminently drinkable, the profile here evokes lighter styled Highland malts. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... soft and approachable...offers a solid balance between the freshness of agave and the sweetness driven by the barrel. Lightly peppery on the nose, the tequila features fresh herbs, a pinch of spice, and a mild, indistinct fruitiness that runs to apricot and lemon. The palate spins the equation around, offering a honeyed peach and citrus note up front, filtered through gentle caramel and vanilla notes. There’s a punch of barrel char on the finish, but again this element is mild and well-integrated with the livelier, fruity attack. Less unusual than the expressive and wild blanco, this reposado bottling sticks a bit closer to the expected flavor profile — despite its unusual barrel treatment. The price may be a bit dear, but the experience is fully worth the investment. - drinkhacker.com

..."Barrels used here definitely have influenced the tequila with added barrel spices, but it's more like a 3 on a scale of 10 -- not overpowering, but present. There's also a touch of tropical fruits, cashews, and milk chocolate enhancing the flavors of herbaceous agave. It has both a sweetness and a savoriness in equal measure. It's one that makes you go back to it to see what else you can find. Definitely not the same old sweet vanilla notes that you see in most aged tequilas which is a win in my book." 92 points - distiller.com
