Formerly labelled as a 12 year old, this molasses-based dark rum is reported to be a blend aged between 2 and 12 years (other sources say 3 and 14 years, depending on the specific batch). The brand is named after a wooden schooner used to smuggle rum during U.S. Prohibition. The bottle and the raised cork were inspired by the elegantly squat 18th-century onion bottles, which typically contained rum. These beautiful vessels were sometimes encased with hemp netting which could be used as a handle or to hang the bottle from a ship beam.
