This unique tequila has been introduced in celebration of Cuervo’s long family tradition of tequila production that spans more than two hundred years. The family selects only the best of its tequilas, maturing them in a private cellar. Family member, Juan Domingo Beckmann recalls: 'I was five years old and I remember being here with my father and grandfather preparing Reserva’s limited edition for 1972. This tequila was a private reserve, shared exclusively with family and close personal friends; that is why the name of this product is Reserva de la Familia, which means 'The Family Reserve”.

This is the 16th installment of the limited-edition handcrafted wooden box collection from Jose Cuervo, this time adorned with the artistic styling of celebrated tattoo artist Jerónimo López Ramírez, known in the tattoo community as “Dr. Lakra.”

Dr. Lakra started creating tattoo illustrations in 1990 when he discovered that tattooing was a form of art that could be transferred from the skin to a variety of inanimate surfaces. By mixing traditional tattoo art and Mexican graphic art, he transforms objects such as vintage posters, Japanese print art, paper glasses and plastic dolls. Lakra’s work has been shown in individual exhibitions in galleries around the world including London, Berlin, Tokyo, and of course Mexico.
