AKA 'Four Grain', this whisky highlights the delicious estate-grown 'Bloody Butcher Corn' which makes up 70% of the mash bill. Malted rye, wheat and barley fill out the rest. The variety is an open pollinated, heirloom corn grown on Jeptha Creed's farms in Shelbyville. It lends an earthier, sweeter, nuttier flavour profile for a smooth yet bold taste. 49% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Much like their Red, White & Blue Straight Bourbon, Jeptha Creed 4 Grain Corn Bourbon has a very natural and earthy taste to it. The nose especially is full of fresh scents of grass, cedar, and dandelions with mushrooms thrown in for good measure. It sounds odd, but it really comes together and is a nice change of pace from the typical bourbon aroma of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The palate and finish mirror the nose’s freshness and the whole bourbon tastes very down to earth. Surprisingly, the bloody butcher corn doesn’t give off a roasted note unlike what you’ll notice with many of its peers. The inclusion of malted grains helps add a light buttery mouthfeel, and despite its under 3 year old age statement, contains no harsh grain notes or general youthfulness. The bourbon’s age becomes a factor on its flavor intensity. While the proof seems adequate and the bourbon’s flavor profile is good, it lacks punch and is more mellow than I would like it to be. Overall, Jeptha Creed 4 Grain Corn Bourbon is shaping up nicely and with a little more time in the barrel may remedy the few minor issues I have with it. - breakingbourbon.com

...The nose is dry and chalky, with notes of dried leaves, dried cherries, and raspberries. The palate is also dry, with some peppery spice. Water unlocks chocolate, and the dryness recedes a bit. The finish is the best part, offering orange Creamsicle and vanilla notes, though still dry. Water brings out light tobacco leaf. Unusually dry and somewhat ashy, with some appealing notes that never quite emerge. 86 points - whiskyadvocate.com
