Pasquet continues to innovate with novel variants on traditional Pineau des Charentes. Arriving in time for the Spring/Summer season, just one cask of this fresh and fruity Rose was made from organically grown Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from the family estate. The unfermented juice was blended with cognac eau-de-vie. The style works as a refreshing standalone drink, but is also recommended in a simple cocktail called a 'Pineau Tonic': In a highball glass, gently crush 3-4 chunks of lime with a pestle. Pour in the rosé Pineau des Charentes. Cover with ice and stir, then top it up with Lemon Lavender Tonic and garnish with a sprig of lavender. Enjoyed straight, it offers a beautiful harmony of fruity-honeyed accents that pair with fruity desserts or as an accompaniment to cheese. 18% Alc./Vol.
