Made from a bland of 56% Chardonnay and 44% Pinot. The base wine consists of 1995 and 1996 vintage wines, of which a small component of the 1995 has been aged in oak, prior to blending with the 1996.Deep straw colour, quite advanced for a 95/96 wine, and showing oxidative treatment. The nose reveals toasted aromas of yeast lees, biscuit and nut, again showing bottle developed characters. On the palate the wine is rather broad and oxidized, with dominant flavours being nut, yeast lees and cashews. The acid levels are a touch high. Biscuit, yeast lees aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
