The first release in a new series exclusive to global travel retail. Glenlivet's Groundbreaker Collection aims to "marry original perspectives through travel experiences" with Chapter One in the series selectively finished in red wine casks - a first for the distillery. The packaging was made in collaboration with Red Hong Yi, a Malaysian-Chinese contemporary artist who used traditional Chinese red pigments, reflected in the hue of the red-wine-finished whisky. Initially matured in European and American oak, a portion of the liquid was then finished in charred American oak and European red wine casks. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... the nose has red currant, glacé cherry, Szechuan peppercorn, Red Vines, and apple. Gently paced with subtle flavors of red apple, fudge sweetness, damson, more Red Vines, and a tingle of pepper.
