While the official 2019 release was available in multiple markets at 40% ABV, travellers visiting duty-free were able to pick up an exclusive version bottled at a special strength of 43%. Now you can too! Tasters have raved about the domestic release, but have bemoaned the low ABV. Seasoned whisky lovers know that even 3% extra can have a significant impact on flavour.

'Grand Cru' was initially aged in American and European oak casks before being moved over to rare French 'cuvée oak' casks that previously held still wine from the Champagne region. Reports have it there were only 900 bottles in the first batch. Besides the notable maturation, this is definitely one of the better looking Glenfiddichs of the last decade. The sleek black glass bottle comes with a striking gold Grand Cru print and impressive black box featuring an exploding firework design.

As for the liquid inside, whiskymag.com described aromas of apple blossom, freshly baked bread and candied lemon, with sweet brioche, sandalwood, pear sorbet and white grape on the palate. According to whiskyfun.com, "The juice is really worth it! Some top-notch Glenfiddich". It should appeal to drinkers as much as investors and 'Fiddich completionists. Very limited stocks.
