East London Liquor Co. Ltd Navy Strength Demerara Rum (700ml)

ELLC haven't actually distilled this rum, instead they sourced it from Guyana and bottled it. Produced from 100% Demerara sugar using the world's only surviving wooden column still (which should give away its provenance), it spent over 3 years in x Bourbon casks.

Tasting note: Deep polished copper / gold with pale straw edges. Exudes superb aromas of brown sugar, vanilla bean and creamy soda in the initial pass, developing hints of milk chocolate, custard and dates. Medium sweet, then delicately bittersweet, sappy through the middle stage. Finish showcases a sensational burst of sugars in the form of molasses, dark chocolate, caramel and pipe tobacco. Fades nutty, buttery, oily and drying with good staying power. 57% Alc./Vol.
