Echoing Cognac's own Pineau des Charentes, this Gascon specialty is made by blending the partially fermented juice of Merlot, Cabernet and Cabernet Franc grapes with one-third Delord Armagnac. The mixture is then aged in old oak barrels to preserve the fresh fruitiness. It's a charming, medium sweet style, with the body and character of ruby port, recommended as an aperitif with foie gras, melons or as an after dinner treat. 17% Alc./Vol.
