Cut Hill Distillery Foundation Stone Double Cask Australian Single Malt Whisky (700ml)
Cut Hill Distillery is located on a 40-acre property in South Australia at Hindmarsh Valley next to Victor Harbour. The name is derived from an historic drystone wall. This is the very first release from the 'rebranded' distillery and it comes matured in locally sourced red wine casks, some seasoned with McLaren Vale Mead liqueur which adds fruit cake flavours to the palate. Spiced dates and pudding are overlaid and supported by dry red wine varietals in predominantly American oak, carefully aged in the drying conditions of the maritime micro-climate of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The producers notes describe aromas and flavours of toast, sultana, banana chips and a delicate, warming, medium long finish. 47.3% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... "Delicious freshly baked pastries such a cinnamon rolls and hot cross buns on the nose continue on to the palate with the addition of orange and creamy caramel fudge. The warm mouthfeel lingers for a short time on the finish." - Bronze Medal, World Whisky Awards 2026
