Claude Carre et Fils Premier Cru Champagne

Good white creamy mousse that holds well revealing a pale straw coloured base wine. Very fine bead showing excellent persistence. The nose displays lifted baked bread and yeasty top notes followed by some citrus and brioche. The palate possesses good richness and body with flavours of biscuity yeast lees, baked bread, citrus and some light toast. Almost creamy like in texture with a crisp dry finish. Long yeast lees, citrus and baked bread aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2015).

First Tasted 18/03/2011:
Good white creamy mousse with pale gold base colour. Very fine and persistent bead. Aromas of brioche, citrus and yeast lees followed by some cashew and biscuit notes. The palate shows finesse and is beautifully balanced with flavours of citrus, yeast lees and biscuit followed by some light toasty characters. Clean crisp finish and quite creamy like mouthfeel. Excellent depth with long aftertaste of biscuit, cashew and lees.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
