Clan Denny Allt-A-Bhainne 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A lesser-known Speysider, Allt-A-Bhainne is an unpretentious, straightforward malt that's typically light and fresh with sweet floral notes. The distillery is working again since having been mothballed in 2002. It's a very young operation, opened only in 1975, serving primarily to supply whisky for the Chivas Regal blends. Despite its significant output, it's designed to be run by a single person.

There's never been an official distillery bottling from Allt-A-Bhainne, although one may come across the occasional independent. This one's drawn from a single re-fill barrel, after which it was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Clan Denny series. The label notes describe flavours of coconut cream and buttery oak biscuits followed by a moreish caramel sweetness with hints of polished oak. The outturn was all of 89 bottles! 46% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
