Bushmills 12 Year Old is set to be the distillery's new core product, replacing the 10 Year Old. Like the rest of the range, it’s triple distilled, but comes matured in three cask types: Oloroso sherry butts for depth and dried fruit, bourbon barrels for sweetness and structure, followed by a finishing spell in Marsala wine barriques. While some would like to see the ABV increased to give the whiskey more depth, most consider it a super-serviceable Irish, whose strong point is its amiable character. 40% Alc./Vol.
